BITS Institute of Physiotherapy has dedicated 4 laboratories which includes Anatomy, Physiology, Exercise therapy and Electrotherapy for the basic knowledge of medical and paramedical field. Institute has also developed 4 departments with advanced equipment which includes Musculoskeletal, Neurological, Cardiopulmonary and community based rehabilitation.
Laboratories and departments play a crucial part in cementing any novel idea they have learnt and these spacious, student friendly labs persuade them to experiment theory and work around new concepts.
Physiotherapy in Cardiopulmonary Department
PT Cardiopulmonary department is well equipped with advance models for teaching as well clinical purpose. Facilities provided are such as exercise testing and prescription, Basic Life Support teaching as well cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.
This department commonly deals with teaching of assessment and management in COPD, Asthma and Bronchiectasis as well post-operative cases like CABG, Abdominal surgeries.
Physiotherapy in Community-Health Department
Community health department is well equipped with advance orthosis and prosthesis for clinical as well as teaching purpose. This department deals with women’s health issue, age related changes and persons with disabilities including vocational counselling.
Physiotherapy in Musculoskeletal Department
Orthopaedic physiotherapy is the oldest branch of physiotherapy and is oriented towards the treatment of musculoskeletal ailments.
BITS institute of physiotherapy having well established Orthopaedic department with modern and scientific rehabilitation equipment for testing and training.
It involves regaining appropriate health and function of structure surrounding the joint regions and normalising the biomechanics following any injury or orthopaedic Conditions.
Physiotherapy in Neuroscience Departmet
PT Neurology department is well equipped with Advance models for teaching as well clinical purpose. Facilities provided includes latest neurological rehabilitation tools such as Body Weight supported Treadmill training. Also, Advance Electro diagnostic tools such as EMG-NCV, Biofeedback and Balance Master.
This department commonly deals with teaching of assessment and management of various neurological as well as paediatric Disorders.
Out – Patient Department
Out-patient department of physiotherapy is a large, well equipped, spacious venture whereby the patients with various disorders like joint arthritis, muscle strain, post fractured conditions, muscle paralysis, birth disorders, cardiopulmonary disorders, antenatal and postnatal care etc. are being screened, assessed and treated with physiotherapy protocol.
The department is also equipped with lots of advanced and digitalized instruments such as EMG-NCV, PFT, TMT, Multigym, Biofeedback, Balance master etc. used for assessment and rehabilitation of the patients.
Anatomy Laboratory
Human Anatomy Laboratory is a place where students are taught to dissect the cadaver and explore it for the basic learning needed for academic curriculum. It also provides a large means of exposure of anatomical charts, models, soft tissues & skeletal structures extracted from the cadaver as well as skeletal posters for surface anatomy.
Physiology Laboratory
Human Physiology Laboratory introduces students to laboratory techniques in the study of physiology. It is fully equipped with a wide range of facilities to allow individuals to be assessed various system of our body such as Haematological, Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Muscle Physiology and Neurophysiology.
Exercise therapy Laboratory
Exercisetherapy and Kinesiology department is well equipped with instruments to analyse and treat human movement, strength, locomotion and posture. Students are taught assessment of important aspect of human biomechanics and well trained to use various manual and mechanical tools such as Multigym, Physio balls, De lorm shoes, weight cuff, Dumbells, Parallel bar etc. to improve strength of muscles and gait.
Electrotherapy Laboratory
Electrotherapy laboratory is important hub of the physiotherapy department, where students gain knowledge about various diagnostic and therapeutic electrotherapy equipment. Moreover there is a wide exposure of equipment with various companies with different built and functioning so that students confront with the differences in the same.
Further it also imparts students with knowledge of various devices in physics and 3D circuit models.
